An Introduction to FIRA Robot World Cup (FIRA Cup)

FIRA Cup, which is held annually in one of the world's countries by the FAIR World Federation, provides an area for challenging the younger generation and researchers in the field of autonomous moving robots. It is hoped that the FIRA Cup tournament, which took place since 1996, as well as its free competition which is held in one of the member states of the Federation, would create a desire for robotics among young people. Through these matches, FIRA hopes to help young people better understand the scientific concepts and technology evolution. FIRA believes that even parts of these interests will increase the scientific and engineering skills that ultimately lead to research that serves humans in various ways. FIRA has been held on an annual basis in many countries, including Australia, Brazil, China, France and South Korea, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and has been making significant progress since 1996. Today, the FIRA tournament is known as the robotic festival in the world. The FAIR Federation operates in four main sections, with a practical and industrial view towards robots. FIRA AIR, FIRA Challenge, FIRA Sport and FIRA Youth, each of which has different leagues. The International Conference on Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, held annually at the same time as holding this important global event, which highlights the special view of science and technology.

Through running FIRA World Cup tournament in various countries around the world, including our beloved Iran, which is considered as the qualification for the tournament for Iranian teams, this federation seeks to promote robotics knowledge and artificial intelligence, fostering the spirit of creativity and innovation and ultimately entrepreneurship in this field.

Free Iranian FIRA cup

With the development of technology in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence in the world and the need to train the skillful force for this field in the country, Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) has launched the national and international program of scientific and applied competitions for robotics and artificial intelligence since 2009. With the development of international space and warm welcome of Iranian and foreign teams and teams of these competitions, the committee of the tournament was formed a cooperation with the World Federation of FIRA, and since 2013, international tournaments of Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) was named as  Free Iranian FIRA Cup. The sport-related focus of this tournament, and considering the various challenges posed onto robotics knowledge and artificial intelligence, can create the basis for the development of this science in the country as well as developing a skillful force to further the economy of the country.

Amir Kabir AI Competitions is a selection of competitions related to the field of artificial intelligence, which is held in Amirkabir University since 2012. In November 2012, the first edition of the tournament was held in the seven majors in November 2013 in 10 fields and the third edition of the tournament in November 2015. The fourth edition of the tournament was held in March 2019.

Some of the most important goals of this competition are:

-Promotion of indigenous knowledge in artificial intelligence.

-Identification and introduction of successful internal products and companies related to artificial intelligence.

-Providing the necessary fissuring to present the new ideas of researchers and assisting their business.

-Providing necessary fissuring to supply the needs of organizations, companies and industries and provide solutions by researchers.

-Discussion and exchange between academics, researchers and craftsmen around the fields of cooperation.

In this competition, it is been tried to discuss about issues to meet the following needs as much as possible:

-It is about internal needs of the country.

-Possible evaluation and comparison of proposed solutions.

-It is related to artificial intelligence and has been used by smart methods to solve it.

In order to further encourage the researchers to participate in competitions, in accordance with the attracted financial support, it is considered valuable prizes for the elects.
